Easter Bunny Fabric Banner DIY

What can be better than celebrating Easter by creating a fun DIY Easter Bunny Banner?  So here I’m with how to create this cute DIY banner for you and your family. Hope you all like it.

So the first step as always is to make sure you have all the material you need for to create this banner. Prepare the material so that you don’t have to worry about anything when you are in the middle of doing things.

10L

  1. Designer fabric print (of your choice)
  2. Pencil
  3. Pellon iron on backing
  4. Satin ribbon
  5. Rotary cutter or Scissors
  6. Fabric knife
  7. Bunny shape stencil (I couldn’t find one in the market so made my own. It is very easy to make it. If you are good at drawing, draw a bunny shape on a white sheet of paper. The size should be approx 6 x 6 inches. You can also find a bunny shape on internet and print it (if you use a shape from the internet make sure you have the permission to download that artwork).

Now we are ready to start with our DIY Easter day banner project-

1

Use a bunny shaped stencil to trace the leave pattern on the fabric.

You can trace as many designs as you want on the fabric, just remember to do so on the back of the fabric. I drew 4 buntings, you can draw more or less depending on the length of the banner you want to make.

Now you need to add firmness  to each bunting. To add weight and stabilize the bunting you would need to add an “Iron On Backing”. You can get them at Jo-Ann (http://www.joann.com) or Hobby Lobby (http://www.hobbylobby.com/) or your local, favorite craft store. (http://www.joann.com/peltex-1-side-fusible-interfacing-20-w-x-10yds/prd49910/)

Put your  bunny shape on top of  Iron on Backing. Use hot iron until fabric is fused with Iron on Backing.

See instructions below in this picture.

5

Lay a single pennant on a foam board. Cut two small slits on the fabric with fabric knife or scissors.

6

Repeat the same for all pennants and then put a satin ribbon through the slits of each.

Life is Beautiful – Valentine’s Day!

Window Treatment on Valentine's Day

What is love?

So many authors have written thousands of word about it, so many unsuccessful attempts have been made to define it but still this most wonderful feeling in life eludes us from defining it. May be the mystery of love is what makes it so interesting. May be it isn’t supposed to be defined!

It’s strange that water, oxygen, food, shelter, money are not just enough in life. Everybody needs and wants to share love.

A combination of twenty-six alphabets are not enough to define the feeling which only a heart can feel. Valentine’s Day is meant to share, spread, show and celebrate love.

This year I want to share this love with the world by saying “Life is Beautiful”, it’s the most wonderful story in the universe. There can’t be anything more touching than a man’s true love story. A story without love is not worth telling! The artwork below sums of this feeling better than anything I have ever seen.

This artwork is from the creative genius and cartoonist Hugh McLeod.
